test prep day
today we reviewed for Dimitri because he wasn't there the day before and we played a game about our test and we all were split up into two teams and had to answer questions. Then my team ended up winning 10 - 4 easy win other than playing a game we answered questions and went over what we learned but with a twist we had to make our own definitions and then we had to name what things were and then we got to loud and Dimitri stopped the game then the bell rang and we left and went to advisorys. so also we learned that we get to use our maps tomorrow on our test which is good and we can't write notes on them or they will be taken. and we learned that there is four types of distortion 1. is shape of an area can be distorted 2. distance between points may be increased or decreased 3. relative size of different areas can be altered 4. direction between points can be distorted.

Class
Today in human geo we had people walk up to the board and act like a teacher. some notes I took was. toponym which means the name given to a place on earth. Site is the physical character of a place. Situation is the location of a place relative to other places. Region a unique area. An area on earth defined by one or more distinctive characteristics is a region 1. spanning political states 2. constrained within one political state. A region derives its unified character through the cultural landscape- a combination of cultural religious and physical features. Geographers identify three types of regions 1 formal region( aka uniform region or homogeneous region) an area which everyone shares in common one or more distinctive. Also dimitri was probably the best teacher we had and was very enthusiastic about teaching one of the slides. Until my next human geography class see ya.

Longitude and latitude and Some conspiracy
So today we talked about located places with GPS or Global Positioning System that it has come along way because it can sense how many feet away you are from something and that your browser will ask for your location so u can get to the nearest pharmacy for prescriptions and that the information could get out and people could take your medication or your location tracker and track your where abouts. Also we talked about how Alexa amazons smart home device could be listening to your conversations and be listening to everything you do invading your privacy and that if for instance that your a drug dealer talking in your home to some one that the government could listen and bust you and that it might be illegal but its the same thing as a search warrant they probably have a good cause to listen. Until my next human geo class.
